Yoga and Pranayam are the need of the hour
Pranayam
Pranayam is made of two words from sanskrit language. Prana and Ayama. Prana stands for breath or the energy. Ayama stands for control. Pranayama means to control your breath.
Why we need Pranayam?
According to an estimate our lungs take in 180-200 cubic inches. When we inhale we take in 30 cubic inches air and exhale the same amount. 150 cubic inches of air remain in the lungs all the time. If we take a beep breath then we can exhale 100 cubic inches of air.
With Pranayam we can make major part of the air present in the lungs active in the breathing cycle. If the residual air in the lungs gets purified, the food is digested properly, the body organs become strong and entire body is cleaned and purified. Whatever food we eat comes in contact with the oxygen that is inhaled in the process of respiration. The oxidation process yields several important compounds that are useful for the body. The carbon present in the food becomes carbon dioxide. It mix with nitrogen, and other elements present in the food and is thrown out when exhale. Phosphorous present in the food comes in contact with oxygen and becomes phosphate, which builds bones in our body. Sage Patanjali has specified Pranayam is useful mainly for spiritual purpose. Other texts and classics describe Pranayam that can strengthen the body and cure diseases. Millions and millions of people have already benefited from Pranayam in recent years.
People got mental, intellectual, personal, spiritual and general benefits along with physical benefits.
Benefits Of Pranayam
When practiced correctly, Pranayam frees us from the majority of illness. We shall be assured of perfect health and peace of mind.
We feel tired and worn out due to the build up of toxins formed in our environment, when atmospheric pressure is very low or when there are sudden changes in temperature. We seem to lack air and vital energy when we stay inside the room for long without supply of fresh air.
How to practice Pranayam
We do not recommend any one to practice Pranayam on his own. We do not take responsibility for any damage caused to any person by practicing Yoga, related or any other workout. Pranayam must be practiced under proper guidance of trained "Yoga Guru"only. This website is to provide brief description about Pranayam. It should not be used for training purposes.

It must be practiced very slowly and gradually. No two people are alike and no two people have same degree of fitness. By fitness I mean level of fitness according to voluntary muscles as well as involuntary muscles. Voluntary muscles are the muscles those are visible, like biceps, triceps, chest muscles, thigh muscles, calves, abs and so on. Involuntary muscles are the muscles inside our body and are not visible, like organs inside our body. Once mastered upon, Pranayam must be practiced gently according to one's own capacity and physical limitation.

How can we combat Toxin?
How can we combat this general build up of toxins, paralyzing the muscles and nerves? How can we eliminate carbon dioxide from the blood?
Each Pranayam exercise shows what to do. First of all, to clear the body completely, then to recharge it with healing oxygen that stimulates the circulation.
Where to practice Pranayam
The ideal would of course be to get some fresh air away from big towns and cities. In this fast paced life no one have time to drive for couple of hours for fresh air. It is recommended to carry out breathing exercises in a well aired room. Windows can be kept open for couple of minutes so that there is plenty of fresh air inside the room. These are deep breathing exercises, therefore you want to inhale the best quality air. Morning Sun rays are full of energy and the air high in oxygen is best quality for us. In winter window can be kept little open and warm clothes should be worn.
Posture for Pranayam
The best posture to practice Pranayam is "Lotus Position"(Padmasana). If it is difficult to adopt Lotus position then Pranayam can be practiced in "Cross Legged position" (Sukhasana). Those people who are unable to adopt either Lotus Position or Cross legged position then they can practice while sitting in the chair. The key is to keep back, neck and head in a straight line from the base of the spinal column upwards, without feeling at all tired. There are some Pranayam that can be executed while standing or lying on the back.
Flow or Rhythm
The best way to practice Pranayam is to breath regularly and according to set rhythm. Yogis measure time by counting their heartbeat. Some people take help of watch.
To breath is to live. Life is entirely dependent on the breath. All living things including plants must have air to live. Breath is ever present from the moment a baby fills its lungs to the last gasp of a dying man. "Life is nothing but a series of breaths" says a Hindu Proverb.
Importance of Pranayam
While we may live without eating for several days, and without drinking for many hours. How many minutes can we last without breathing? Man must not only breathe to live but should do so in such a way that he maintains constant vitality and avoids illness. Unfortunately, the number of people who know who to breathe properly is very small. Most people breath in a very haphazard way as may be seen by cramped chests, stooping shoulders and the development of respiratory illnesses. It has been noted that unsatisfactory breathing habits decreases resilience and shorten life.
